About
Get to Know Us
We Walk as an act of faith in “We the People.”
Our core values are respect, kindness, curiosity and courage.
We aren’t “for” or “against” anything - unless you want to say that we are for America, and against cruelty and despair.

We’re striving to ease the politics of fear and resentment.
We hope to spark a new collective vision for the commonweal.
We walk with steadfast determination, convinced that walking together is better than splitting apart.
Why We Walk
Learn why we walk—from those shaped by the legacy of refugees, moved by spiritual purpose, and inspired by past journeys across this vast country. Each step is a stand for compassion over fear, connection over division, and hope over despair. We walk to remember who we are, to meet each other face to face, and to move toward a more united and humane America.
The Journey Ahead
We’re walking coast to coast — from Eugene, Oregon to Washington, D.C.
Over 2800 miles, 6.3 million steps, and 149 hometowns.
From July 4th to November 30th, follow our path across America as we connect communities, one step at a time.
Check out our route and see where the journey leads next.
