Kitting Out an RV

7.1.25 - Hello all! It's the evening of July 1st and we have just two more full days to get everything ready to go before the day of the launch! I am using lots of exclamaition points because this is a big dang deal! Today was spent planning, organizing, shopping, rethinking, reorganizing, dotting i's and crossing t's and the general mayhem that marks any new and important endeavor. May the frenzy we feel now be but a distant memory once we hit the trail and realize that really, truly, we have everything we need. Plus enough tinfoil to wrap the entire RV three times over 😂

The kinds of things that you buy to kit out an RV for five months of travel are proving to be surprising to me. Far more organizational totes and tubs than I would have imagined. And I'm guessing that once we hit the road, we'll be reorganizing and rethinking many of our choices from today - you can't know what you don't know, right? For example, are ziploc baggies a handy thing to have on hand? Or are they just space wasters that can't be used in an RV due to all the jiggling from the drive? Do we need garbage bags? Do we need non-slip mats? Do we need extra cutting boards? How many knives does one RV need? Probably I couldv'e been researching this months ago, but months ago we were creating the organization and drawing the logo and dreaming the big dreams - I think the nitty gritty will come into focus the more we walk and live into this new reality we are creating. In any case, I am in charge of basic food supplies and launch party snacks, as well as the fundamentals of living in an RV... any suggestions I should keep an eye out for on my next Costco run?

See you at the launch!

❤️

Kate.
